Drum Set Lessons

Drum set lessons are available for beginning through advanced students. Lessons are intended to be fun yet very educational. Each lesson is a one on one private session that is tailored to the student's own interests and ability level. Lessons cover various music styles including jazz, rock, funk, country, hip-hop and Latin music. Strong fundamental musical skills will be developed through the use of written music, audio listening, CD play-along, and student recordings. Standard drumming skills such as rudiments, hand and foot technique, styles, coordination, reading and improvisation will also be developed. Brian's studio has become the model for all others in the area to follow.

Studio at the Jam Station
Brian's studio is located at the Jam Station in Plano, Texas. The Jam Station is a sound proofed musician's building that features teaching, rehearsing and recording studios. The teaching studio is set up with the student's success in mind. The room features the following amenities:

1. Two complete drum sets, which enable the student and teacher to play simultaneously, mirroring the teacher's every move.

2. A full audio sound system with mini disc and compact disc recording capability allowing the student to listen to recordings, play along to recordings and hear a play-back of their own playing.

3. The wall adjacent to the student drum set is mirrored to allow the student to see their exact movements.

4. A Real Feel practice pad and metronome for developing good hand technique.

5. A complete library of drum and percussion education books in all style of music.

Lesson Rates
Private individual lessons are available on a weekly basis at the following rates:

1. 30 minute lesson $25

2. 60 minute lesson $50

Lessons are to be paid per month in advance. Payment is due no later than the first lesson of the month. There is a late fee of $5 per week for any payments not recieved by the first lesson of the month. Invoices will be mailed or email to the parent/student and should be returned directly to the teacher on the first lesson of the month.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson time. Without 48 hours notice, I cannot refund your tuition. With advanced notice, I will make every effort to reschedule the lesson or apply a credit to the next month's invoice.

The teaching studio is on the first floor, room B-11 of the Jam Station. The Jam Station is located at 3420 Ave. K, Suite 317, in Plano, TX, 75074. Driving directions: From 75 Central Expressway, go east on Parker Rd. Turn left on Ave. K. The Jam Station is in the shopping center on the northeast corner of Parker and Ave. K. Turn right into the second drive after Taco Bueno. Suite 317 (the Jam Station) is the northern most Suite in this shopping center. See map below.
